Making a Difference at St. Matthew's Cathedral

When St. Matthew’s Cathedral needed help in replacing the narrow wooden ramp to the main door of the Cathedral, they knew where to turn. As an investment client of the Episcopal Foundation of Dallas since 2007, St. Matthew’s is well-acquainted with the Foundation’s annual grant program. Their application described a vibrant and diverse congregation with a priority for community outreach and an urgent need for a safe ADA-compliant entrance to the church. The Foundation was able to provide financial support for the project with a $7,500 2011 grant.

Investment Excellence

The Foundation employs eight investment managers, each selected for their expertise in a particular asset class. Recently, the Foundation’s International portfolio managers at Thornburg Investment Management were named 2010 SMA Managers of the Year by Investment Advisor magazine.

Individual Giving

In 1962, Mrs. Bess Clayton Morrison, established the William B. Clayton Memorial Endowment Fund at the Foundation with 100 shares of General Electric stock. Today, the Clayton Fund provides annual operating support for the Bishop’s Camp, a free 7 week summer camp for over 100 inner-city youth.
